  • Philosophy

Our research led us to recognize the massive spectrum that different human minds cover.

Each element of the unit is designed to be operated on a spectrum: undefined and adjustable. I did my best to avoid alienating the ‘in between’ by avoiding dichotomy where possible.

Features are linearly adjustable, enabling the user to ‘fine tune’ a unique experience to exactly what environment their unique mind is most comfortable in.

  • This element of personalization allows for profoundly different experiences for different individuals, all in the same space and without disturbing others around them. This assists dramatically with focus and productivity, both for users inside and employees in the vicinity.

  • Interactive points are intentionally near one another in order to build the impression of localization. Each is placed behind the user’s direct field of vision as not to interfere with focus on the task at hand. Focus groups and regular users gave the data I needed to turn measurments into practical reality.

  • Technological integration is crucial for productivity, but remains a barrier for some. Analog and ergonomics were the priority, but user feedback indicated that the unit must at least support the use of a laptop and phone in an intuitive way. For someone to feel comfortable moving their workspace into a MeSpace unit, getting plugged in must be as simple as it would be at their home desk in order to match it in effectiveness and appeal.

  • The clip system takes modularity further, allowing unused walls of the units to be swapped with whiteboard panels in seconds, integrating them with their exterior environment.

This is a further realization of the adaptability of the unit with its environment and an effort on my part to be cognizant of the unit’s impact on its surroundings. The value proposition of a product like this is significantly lessened if the only benefit is offered to those inside of it.

  • A massive shortcoming, in my opinion, of competing products is their inability to integrate. I studied how the product affected directly space dynamics and designed it to be wholly modular with the intent to be used as a zoning tool. MeSpace is more than a pleasant space to work individually - its a work environment. It can be used to create breakout spaces for zoned teams, protecting the peace of the rest of the office.

  • The result of this is a more dynamic office and a product that fits seamlessly into a space instead of having to be worked around as an adversary.

  • The engineer and I putting final touches on a MeSpace unit for a Launch Event for the final product.

  • You made it to the end.
